As part of an ongoing project with our website, we would greatly appreciate it if anyone who has a written history of the church would be willing to give us a copy or loan us a copy so that we can record this information. These can be any of the histories that have been prepared over the years for different special events. Please contact Turner if you can help in this way. Thank you very much!

For those of you with children, our Faith Walkers program will be kicking off on Wednesday, September 14th at 5:30 pm. This is the same program as Faith Finders and is for the same age groups, we just felt a name change was in order. There are still places to help if you are looking for a place to volunteer and would like to be a part of ministering to children. Please talk to Staci if you would like to help. Bring the entire family and take part in this time of food, games and fellowship. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
As most of you know, Camp Nebowa has been in the middle of a huge building project this summer! They are constructing new dorms to replace the aging, existing dorms. They are having an open house on Sunday, August 21st at 2:00 pm. If you would like to go see the progress, there are going to be a lot of fun things going on. See the schedule below. Please contact one of the elders if you need a ride, we will help make sure you can get there.
The Primghar Church of Christ elders are happy to announce that we have made a new hire! After many, many months of prayerful consideration and reflection about how to proceed with paid staff, we have made a decision.
It has weighed upon our hearts that we needed a person dedicated to working with children, youth and by extension, families. Don does an excellent job preaching, teaching and visiting those who are in need of it, but we saw a need for someone to work alongside him whose focus would be on youth and education. Early on, we received resumes from a lot of candidates outside of our area, some great, some good, some not so good. We decided to stop actively searching for awhile and focus some time on trying to find out where God was leading us. In recent months we have felt a strong pull that we needed to look at using part-time paid staff so that a larger portion of our funds could be used to have a real, direct impact upon the people we are called to minister too. We also became convinced that a person from the outside would have a long learning curve before finding out what this church and community really needed. For this reason, we decided to hire someone from within our congregation who has already been working with children and youth and who is deeply invested in our community. We would like you to join us in welcoming Staci Hicks as our new Youth Director/Coordinator. Staci attended Nebraska Christian College and has been actively engaged in serving Christ since a young age. Staci and her husband Turner farm just outside of Primghar and plan on faithfully serving this church for many years. They recently welcomed their first child, Preston, into the world and look forward to raising their son in a church that truly strives to love as Christ loved. Staci will be in charge of developing and choosing curriculum, scheduling activities and events, overseeing youth leaders and helpers and performing most of the duties performed by a full-time youth minister. If you have questions or would be willing to help with the youth in any way, please feel free to contact Staci. We are excited about what God has in store for this church! Hey all! There has been a big change here at the Primghar Church of Christ! The new chairs have arrived and the sanctuary looks a whole lot different. If you haven't been here in awhile, now's a great time to come check it out. We hope to see you Sunday!
We’ve all heard of ‘rags to riches’ stories but the story of the coming of our Lord is, in reality, a ‘riches-to-rags’ story. He left the glory of Heaven to come to this planet. He could have been born in a most elegant mansion. He could have had high society parents who boasted of their pedigree. He could have had the finest clothes from the most exclusive shops. He could have had an army of angel servants to respond to His every whim.
But He had none of that. Instead, Jesus humbled Himself. The Creator of the universe - born in a stable in Bethlehem. And, 2 Corinthians 8:9 explains why: “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.” In Christ, God came into our world and was like any other baby who needed to be cradled, nurtured, and protected. Sadly, in many ways, the Christmas story has been romanticized. May we be careful not to do that because, those who do so, miss its raw, powerful meaning. God Almighty was born on the dirt floor of a filthy, smelly stable. Jesus left heaven to come to a stable filled with animals. He took His place in that manger so that we might have a home in Heaven with Him. -Don- Here are some pictures from our Harvest Festival and Trunk or Treat. Enjoy! This is the first post on the new website! Welcome to primgharchurch.org! If anyone has any suggestions or questions, please use the contact form or talk to Turner directly. We will be using the blog portion of the site for two main things; we will get news and updates out about the happenings at church and around our community and Don will periodically post a message. We will occasionally try to have one of the elders post a message so you can hear from different perspectives. Our biggest update right now is that we are in the process of replacing the pews with chairs. We are still getting price quotes, but this change will happen soon. We are also looking at ways we can put bathrooms on the main floor. We welcome any input from the congregation on this issue. Please check out the calendar portion of the site, this is where we will post all upcoming events, you will also be able to submit community events. Check back often!
